for those of you that read my post yesterday concering my cocky neighbor w/the new C5 that was trash talking my Z and japanese cars in general here's the uptake of our little stoplight drag yesterday...Got home last night after picking up my little boy and the guy was out washing his car. I went over and the first thing he did was hand me a check!!! He was real apologetic about dissing my car and being so cocky in the first place. I asked him if he didnt want to really race for the money the way we had originally planned..."dude, I dont want to be beat that badly, I was foot to the floor and you pulled away too damn easy." LOL! After that he started asking tons of questions about the Z and modding in general...he had no clue other than reading the occaisional Car& Driver at the doctors office as to what was what. 2 hours later ( and one pissed off wife )I took him for a little ride. he was very impressed by the handling/braking ect but he was saying "but my car feels so much faster" so got into THAT whole discussion. He asked if I wanted to drive his car so of course I did. regardless of what anyone says, I think the C5 is really sweet ( even w/the autobox) totally different performance experience than the Z and much more civilized than my car ( I prefer the rabid pit bull ambience and looks of my Z for sure). really nice car overall, but I'll keep my Z. :-) Now I have 500 extra bucks ( hello NOS GB! ) and a neighbor who has seen the light...no more trash talk from this guy!
